Angeles City to build new city hall, sports complex
The city government of Angeles will construct a new city hall and a sports complex to complement the ongoing development of the Clark Freeport Zone, an official said.
City Engineer Donato Dizon said the P580-million 5-floor modern and green city hall will be built in front of the existing government edifice.
It will mainly house the new offices for the mayor, vice mayor, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) and other city government agencies.
The building will also have parking lots and rentable commercial spaces in the first and second floors.
Dizon also said that the 15,795-square meter city hall building will also feature an auditorium and a multipurpose function hall to serve bigger government events and activities.
“The old city hall is quite small and congested already. It also needs plenty of repairs. The new city hall will bring together all our offices and services to make our compound a compact walkable government complex,” Dizon said.
Meanwhile, a P320 million-worth sports complex and socio-civic center is also being eyed to be constructed in Barangay Pampang, the official said.
He said it will have a 2,500-capacity convention center with complete sports amenities, multi-purpose halls and parking areas.
The projects will be funded through a loan from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).
Dizon said the local government is eyeing to start the building of the facilities by September this year, which will last for 600 calendar days.
