Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr expresses dismay against Grab Philippines

Mar 16, 2020 @ 3:07

There are no nice words to be exchanged between Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr and officials of GRAB Philippines.

The city government has been contact-tracing the passengers of a driver who was believed to be tested positive for COVID-19. The driver’s Manila-Angeles City-Pamapanga route has prompted Mayor Lazatin Jr to ask help from GRAB. The answer was a no. Grab cited confidentiality clauses and refused to provide any passenger information. “I even reminded them of the Proclamation of President Duterte that LGUs are mandated to prevent the spread of the disease but my plea fell on deaf ears,” shared Mayor Lazatin Jr.

Frustrated, the mayor appealed to the passengers of the said driver to immediately report to the city government for monitoring and assistance.
