Almost 2K OFWs assisted in homecoming thru Balik-Pampanga program
The number of overseas Filipino workers assisted in their return to their hometown through the Balik Pinas, Balik Pampanga program has reached almost 2,000, provincial officials said on Tuesday.
The latest batch consist of 39 returning OFWs who were brought home after testing negative for Covid-19, the Pampanga public information office said.
“Lubos ang pasasalamat ng 39 returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) na sumailalim sa ‘Balik Pinas, Balik Pampanga Program’ ni Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda, at Sanggunian Panlalawigan pagkatapos makauwi ng ligtas at magnegatibo sa Covid-19,” the office said.
The Pampanga PIO said a total of 1,698 Kapampangan have benefited from the program.
“Sa kasalukuyan, nasa 1,698 na Kapampangan ang natulungan sa pamamagitan ng nasabing programa, 26 ang kasalukuyang nakaquarantine sa New Clark City (NCC), at 1,672 naman ang ligtas na napauwi,” it said.
The program assists “returning overseas Filipinos” (ROFs) in returning to the province after completing their mandatory quarantine period, according to provincial officials.
