Agri-machines handed over to 4 Pampanga barangays
In line with efforts to boost the agricultural sector, the City of San Fernando, Pampanga has provided four power tillers to the heads of four farming barangays in the province.
San Fernando Mayor Edwin Santiago, in a statement Thursday, said the power tillers were turned over to Barangays San Felipe, Pandaras, Calulut and Del Carmen.
“We want to simplify the techniques from farming to harvesting to allow more production and increase the farmers’ income,” the politiko said.
The distribution of equipment was in line with the farm mechanization project under the 2016 Bottom-Up Budgeting.
City Agriculture and Veterinary Office head Cristina Sangumay said the new machinery can be loaned to other farming communities.
“We give them the full responsibility for safekeeping the equipment but we encourage them to maximize its use. They can lend those equipment to neighboring villages,” she added.
