Agencies, LGUs sign MOA for Meycauayan-Marilao service road
In a bid to improve traffic flow at the Meycauayan-Marilao corridor in Bulacan province, several agencies signed a memorandum of agreement with local government units for the 190-meter Marilao East Service Road.
The MOA was signed by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), NLEX Corp., and Bulacan LGUs.
The service road is seen to improve traffic congestion and provide a more direct local route to and from Meycauayan City and Marilao.
It provides alternate access to the north from Paso de Blas, Valenzuela City all the way to Marilao, Bulacan, bypassing MacArthur Highway and other local streets.
The signatories to the MOA included Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, Toll Regulatory Board Executive Director Alvin Carullo and Public Works and Highways Assistant Regional Director Denise Maria Ayag.
Bulacan Rep. Henry Villarica, Meycauayan City Mayor Linabelle Villarica, Marilao Councilor Arnold Papa, Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. president and CEO Rodrigo Franco, and NLEX Corp. president and general manager J. Luigi Bautista also signed the agreement.
