Some 225 members of the Sama-Bajau community and 100 Aeta received P10,000 each in cash aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), officials said.
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. led the distribution with Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo, as part of DSWD’s Consultation Dialogue and Caravan Services.
Lazatin thanked Tulfo and the DSWD for allotting cash assistance for the indigent residents.
Members of the Aeta community in Barangay Sapangbato receive P2,000 in livelihood assistance, food packages, and seedlings from the city government every year in celebration of Indigenous People’s Month.
Lazatin recognized the significant contribution of IPs in the development of the society.
Also present during the distribution of assistance are DSWD Regional Director Jonathan Dirain, and other DSWD regional officials.
