An additional 80 small entrepreneurs in San Fernando City were awarded P8,000 in subsidies through the Department of Trade and Industry’s “Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay” program in collaboration with the LGU.

The fourth batch of entrepreneurs received the financial assistance on Friday. The subsidy will be used to buy materials, machines, or other resources needed for the beneficiaries’ businesses, according to officials.

NSB, a livelihood seeding program of the DTI, was first adopted by the San Fernando City government in December 2020.

To date, the NSB already has 311 beneficiaries including food manufacturers, garment-makers, meat-processors, ice cream vendors, and other micro and nano entrepreneurs from the different barangays.

Alongside NSB, CIPO also holds trade fairs, Christmas bazaars and caravans, livelihood skills training, entrepreneurial and managerial training, packaging and labeling training, and market matching to help local entrepreneurs introduce their products and services to consumers.

The activity was attended by Elenita Ordonio, DTI Pampanga director. DTI is the LGU’s partner agency in providing seminars and training to the beneficiaries.
