704 displaced Bataan workers given temp work to disinfect barangays

Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman said her office had successfully completed an assistance program for unemployed, underemployed and disadvantaged workers who were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In total, 704 people were able to get temporary work thanks to the program.

“Tapos na po ang ating Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa Disadavantaged Workers (TUPAD) Program kasama ang Department of Labor and Employment,” Roman said.

“Mayroon po tayong 704 beneficiaries mula sa Unang Distrito ng Bataan: 150 mula sa Dinalupihan; 104 sa Hermosa; 150 sa Orani; 100 sa Samal; 100 sa Abucay; at 100 rin po sa Morong,” she said.

“Ito po ang bunga ng maayos na pakikipag-ugnayan at pakikipagtulungan ng ating tanggapan sa DOLE upang mabigyan ng pansamantalang trabaho ang ating mga kababayang arawan ang kita na pinakanaapektuhan ng COVID-19 pandemic,” according to Roman.

“Ang TUPAD Program po ng DOLE ay tumutulong sa ating mga kababayang unemployed, underemployed, o disadavantaged na makahanap ng pansamantalang trabaho at pagkakakitaan,” she explained.

“Ang beneficiaries po ng ating programa ay ang mga kababayan nating tricycle drivers, construction workers, bangkero, street vendors, at iba pa,” she added.

“Nag-disinfect po sila ng mga lugar na malapit sa kanilang tinitirhan upang masiguro ang kaligtasan at kalusugan nating lahat,” Roman said.
