6K Aurora farmers to receive P5-8K worth of livelihood package
Some 6,000 farmers in Aurora province will receive a total of P38 million worth of livelihood starter kits under the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) of the Department of Trade and Industry.
In a Punto Central Luzon report, DTI regional director Leonila Baluyut said the DTI is in the process of procuring the livelihood kits for distribution to the beneficiaries of LSP-NSB in all the eight municipalities of Aurora.
The funding for the project was supported by Senator Sonny Angara and Aurora Rep. Rommel Rico Angara.
Under the program, beneficiaries from communities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic will receive livelihood packages worth P5,000 – 8,000 to enable them to improve their income opportunities.
The packages are in the form of either sari-sari store packages, bigasan packages or carinderia packages.
Through the program, the DTI hopes to revive economic activity in the countryside of Aurora, Baluyut said.
