6 Reds surrender in Nueva Ecija
Six alleged members of communist New People’s Army (NPA) have surrendered to military, Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom) said Friday.
The Maoist rebels gave up Thursday, July 5, in Brgy. San Agustin, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija.
The surrenderees include five regular NPA members and a Milisyang Bayan (MB) member, all initially went on lie-low status and eventually surrendered to the combined efforts of the 3rd Civil Military Operations (3CMO) Company, the 84th Infantry Battalion (84IB) and the 70th Cadre Battalion, all under the Joint Task Force (JTF) “Kaugnay”.
They were former members of Josefino Corpuz Command and lately called Kilusang Larangang Gerilya (KLG) “Caraballo,” Nolcom said.
They also yielded one high powered firearms and five low powered firearms.
