595 Bulacan MSMEs receive P106M in loans amid pandemic

Some 595 micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs in Bulacan province received P105.7 million in loans, according to the Philippine Information Agency.

During a meeting of the Bulacan MSMED Council, the Small Business Corporation’s Provincial Coordinator Ruth Ann Roxas reported that the loans came from stimulus packages under the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act and the Bayanihan to Recover As One Act.

SB Corp served as the conduit that accepted, processed and approved the applications from the MSMEs entitled to the pandemic loans.

“Magiging kontribusyon din ito sa upang lalong maibangon ang ekonomiya,” according to the report.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Director Edna Dizon explained that the loans were given to assist struggling MSMEs and to help them boost productivity and return to the market.

“Sinasalamin ito ng sunud-sunod na mga trade fairs na isinagawa at gaganapin pa,” the report said.
