44 rounded up in intensified PNP ops in Bulacan

Some 44 people were arrested during a series of anti-crime operations in Bulacan province last week.

Arrested were 29 suspected drug dealers, five wanted persons and 10 alleged illegal gamblers during the intensified anti-crime operations in Bulacan on September 16, according to the Philippine National Police.

Col. Relly B. Arnedo, officer in charge of Bulacan police, said a total of P120,000 worth of suspected dried marijuana leaves was recovered from suspect Jomar Abarrondo in a buy-bust operation conducted by Malolos City police and PNP-Drug Enforcement Group Special Operation Unit 3 in Barangay Pinagbakahan.

Another 28 drug personalities were rounded up during operations launched by the Station Drug Enforcement Units (SDEUs), resulting in the confiscation of P144,608 worth of suspected shabu and P10,156 worth of suspected marijuana.

Five other wanted persons were nabbed by tracker teams of the Second Provincial Mobile Force Company and police forces of Meycauayan City, San Miguel town, and San Jose del Monte City.

Arrested were John Rudell Jamolo wanted for rape, Ruffa Mae Cosejo and Maries Roldan for qualified theft; Nora Tudla for violation of BP 22; and Rainer Roluna for three counts of rape with no bail.

Police also arrested 10 individuals in a series of operations in San Jose Del Monte City, and the towns of Calumpit, Bustos, Bocaue and Marilao for taking part in “cara y cruz,” “tong-its,” and other illegal gambling operations.
