4.2K Pampanga workers paid P4.5K for 10 days of work under Tupad

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in coordination with the Pampanga provincial government, distributed payouts to a total of 4,206 part-time workers at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando City.

Each worker received P4,500 for 10 days of work under the government’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad) program.

The program, managed by DOLE, aims to provide emergency employment to displaced, underemployed and seasonal workers for a period of 10 to 30 days.

Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, who supervised the payout, said the goal of the program is to provide assistance to the local community.

He also added that payouts for the workers in the towns of Apalit, Guagua, Magalang, and Santa Rita were still being processed.

The governor also advised the Tupad workers to be cautious and not to share the wages they received with people posing as Tupad coordinators to prevent any potential fraud and to ensure that the wages reach the intended recipients.
