212 Subic residents get free X-ray checkup to detect TB
Some 212 residents of Subic, Zambales were given free chest X-ray checkups to screen them for tuberculosis under the TB Platforms Project of the United States Agency for International Development or USAID.
Officials said Subic was the first local government in Central Luzon to integrate Covid-19 vaccination and TB screening activities.
In a statement, Subic Municipal Health Officer Nadj Ngilay urged community members to get the free chest X-ray checkup.
He also urged them to report if any member of the household is experiencing symptoms of TB for proper diagnosis and treatment amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The free chest X-ray continues for the entire month of June with the municipal government aiming at at least 200 beneficiaries per day.
