203K learners in Central Luzon register early for new school year
More than 200,000 incoming students in Central Luzon have expressed their intent to register for the 2021-2022 school year, according to the Department of Education.
The DepEd’s early registration campaign drew a total of 203,041 new entrants in public schools in the region, DepEd Regional Director May Eclar said.
As of April 12, some 43,674 schoolchildren registered for Kindergarten, 89,308 for Grade 1, 39,013 for Grade 7, and 31,046 for Grade 11.
“The total number of early registrants come from 3,845 out of 3,854 public schools or 99.79 percent of schools which submitted data on early registration,” Eclar was quoted as saying in a Philippine Information Agency report.
The period for early registration is from March 26 to April 30.
It aims to ensure that incoming learners are registered for the school year per DepEd Order 3, series of 2018, or the Basic Education Enrollment policy.
“This initiative encourages all incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 in public elementary and secondary schools to pre-register to allow the Department to make necessary preparations for the coming school year,” Eclar said.
