The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) has honored 11 of its employees for receiving their accreditation in evaluating and designing environmentally friendly buildings as part of its commitment to promoting sustainability and resilience at Clark Freeport.
During a recent flag ceremony, CDC president and CEO Agnes Devanadera praised the CDC engineers and architects who earned the Geared for Resilience and Energy Efficiency for the Environment (GREEEN) accreditation.
This accreditation evaluates the performance of buildings based on sustainable design and construction principles, with an emphasis on adaptability and climate change resilience.
CDC architects and engineers obtained the GREEEN Accreditation, administered by the Philippine Green Building Initiative (PGBI), through a comprehensive certification examination and a four-day training held on February 17, 18, 24, and 25, 2023.
Individuals who pass this exam are certified as professional building assessors in the Philippines.
Accreditation levels for the GREEEN Rating System include Accredited Assessor (AA), Accredited Design Professional (ADP), and Accredited Design Professional Accredited Assessor (ADP+AA), the highest level.
It is a vital tool for assessing and enhancing the sustainability and resilience of buildings in the Freeport Zone.
Engineers Ricardo CastaƱeda Jr., Jason David, Henry Panlilio, and Reynold Susa passed the Accredited Design Professional (ADP) examination.
Architects Russell Dayrit, Daniel Joseph Tan and Floyd Dizon and engineers Alexander Liwanag, Nicko Angelo Mendoza, Carmelo Pangilinan and Ronald Soriano passed the accreditation in the Accredited Design Professional/Accredited Assessor (ADP+AA) category.
The purpose of the certification is to incorporate green building principles, sustainable design, technologies, and practices to produce energy-efficient, water-efficient, and environmentally friendly structures.
