2 work shifts implemented in SBMA to prevent Covid spread
A two-shift schedule is now being implemented at the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority to prevent the spread of Covid-19 among workers.
According to SBMA chair and administrator Wilma Eisma, one shift is from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, while the second shift is from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“This is our latest adaptation in the new normal,” the SBMA official said in a Punto Central Luzon report.
“We have tried a Team A-Team B weekly alternate schedule to minimize health risks and prevent workplace transmission of Covid-19, but the downside was unavoidable work backlogs,” Eisma said.
“Now, with this Shift A-Shift B scheme, we prevent backlogs, discourage intermingling among workers, and minimize the number of persons in the office at any given time,” she was quoted as saying in the report.
The new work schedule was approved by the Civil Service Commission.
