2 suspects slain, 15 nabbed in Bulacan drug-bust
CAMP GEN ALEJO S. SANTOS, Bulacan – Two alleged drug peddlers were killed while 15 other drug suspects were arrested in a series of buy-bust operations conducted by Bulacan police on Wednesday and Thursday.
Colonel Chito G. Bersaluna, provincial director of Bulacan Provincial Police Office, identified the neutralized suspects as Allan Nuela, 37, native of Barangay Longos, Calumpit, included in the drug watch list of Pulilan Municipal Police Station and Michael Lasala of Barangay Gaya-Gaya, City of San Jose del Monte, included in the unified Philippine National Police-Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PNP-PDEA) drug watch list.
Investigation showed that after the consummated drug transaction in separate operations, the suspects engaged operatives in a shootout and were killed in the process.
Meanwhile, Bersaluna said the 15 other drug suspects were arrested during buy-bust operations conducted in Baliwag, San Rafael, Santa Rafael, Bulakan, Plaridel, and Bustos.
They were identified as Enrico Cruz, John Demver Cortez, Julius Castillo, Jeffrey Castillo, Reynaldo Constantino, Froilan Dungao, Edwardo Liwanag, Efren Punzalan Jr., Leopoldo Sandiego, Jomar Leona, Bonifacia Espinar, Mohhamad Ali H. Abbas, Dhan Fernando Manlapaz, Hannah Pimentel, and Billy Joe Agustin.
The arrested suspects and seized pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory for appropriate examination, while criminal complaints for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002) are being prepared against them for filing in court.
