1K seedlings planted to rehabilitate Angeles watershed
In a bid to preserve its natural resources, the Angeles City government led a tree-planting activity at the Angeles City Watershed in Barangay Sapangbato on Saturday, officials said.
City Hall employees and other volunteers planted some 1,000 seedlings of different varieties of trees at the 560-hectare watershed under the initiative called “Bayanihan sa Tubig-Kanlungan.”
The tree planting activity aims to rehabilitate the Angeles City Watershed. The project was in collaboration with Abacan River Angeles Watershed Advocacy Council Inc., officials said.
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said the city government would continue promoting programs to save and conserve the environment.
“Sa abot po ng ating makakaya, gagawin natin ang lahat upang maisaayos at maproteksyunan ang ating watershed,” the mayor said.
