Another batch consisting of 14 displaced transport workers in Central Luzon received livelihood assistance under the “EnTSUPERneur” program of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The program aims to provide alternative sources of income to public transport drivers and operators affected by the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program and the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, officials said.
According to Nasrudin Talipasan, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) regional head, nine of the new program beneficiaries received a sari-sari store package while the five others were awarded a rice retailing package.
Talipasan said six more beneficiaries will receive livelihood packages later this year.
He thanked the DOLE for its continuous support and assistance to the displaced drivers and operators.
“Tayo ay taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa Department of Labor and Employment sa kanilang patuloy na pagsuporta at pag-alalay sa mga draybers at operators na naapektuhan ng modernisasyon,” Talipasan said in a social media post.
