113 Clark airport employees negative in rapid test
CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga – A total of 113 employees of the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) tested negative for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), during a rapid antibody test undertaken here on Thursday as part of the health safety protocols against the dreaded disease.
Dr. Froilan Canlas, officer-in-charge of the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center, said on Friday that the tests of the blood samples taken from CIAC employees all yielded negative results.
The testing was done through the assistance of the Angeles City government.
CIAC president Aaron Aquino was not tested since he is still in Davao City. He will be tested upon his arrival next week.
“The result was actually a sigh of relief to everybody. President and CEO Aquino will continue to educate our employees on proper health safety protocols against Covid-19,” said Irish Cunan Calaguas, incoming vice president for operations and concurrent Senior Executive Assistant of Aquino.
Calaguas said the “good news confirms CIAC is ready to resume operations with a skeletal staff”.
The rapid test was initially scheduled for July but Aquino ordered it to be conducted earlier so work can resume at the agency to serve locators and other stakeholders.
CIAC is a government-owned and controlled corporation managing the Clark Civil Aviation Complex. (PNA)
