100K Bataan residents get 1st jab, 61K now fully vaxxed

The vaccine rollout in Bataan province continues to gain steam as more than 100,000 residents have received the first dose while more than 60,000 others are now fully vaccinated.

Bataan Governor Albert Garcia said a total of 100,300 individuals had been given the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while a total of 61,607 were now fully vaccinated.

Of the fully vaccinated residents, a total of 4,238 were given the single-dose Janssen jabs.

According to the governor, the province has so far received from the Department of Health 85,080 single-dose vials of Sinovac, 6,420 multi-dose (10-12) vials of AstraZeneca, 3,900 multi-dose vials of Pfizer, 8,250 single-dose ampules of Gamaleya, 530 multi-dose vial Moderna and 7,200 multi-dose (5) vials of Janssen.

With the exception of the 1Bataan FABakuna Center in the Bataan freeport in Mariveles, which caters to A4 or essential workers, all vaccination sites in Bataan are still vaccinated those in priority groups A1 to A3, representing health workers, senior citizens and people with co-morbidities.

“Layunin nating makamit ang herd immunity bago matapos ang taong kasalukuyan dahil ito ang pinakamabisang paraan upang ating mapagtagumpayan ang pandemya at mapigilan ang patuloy na mutation ng coronavirus habang nagkakahawahan sa mga pamayanan,” Garcia said.
