Some 1,392 persons were arrested in one day in Central Luzon for various violations of health and safety protocols, according to the Police Region Office 3.
The arrests were made on September 19, according to the Central Luzon police director Valeriano De Leon.
He said the arrests were made pursuant to the strict enforcement of Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) regulations.
Out of the total, 940 were improperly wearing or not wearing face masks, while 311 were improperly wearing or not wearing face shields.
Eight were arrested for mass gathering, while 133 violated physical distancing.
“We continuously appeal to the public for understanding and adherence to the IATF restrictions as we continue to be very strict in its implementation,” De Leon said.
