‘Specialty Hospital’ bill of SJDM City Cong Robes passes Senate committee level
A bill filed by Cong. Florida “Rida” Robes of San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan, for the establishment of a specialty hospital in her legislative district has passed the Senate committee level.
Robes said on her Facebook page that House Bill 7811, which she co-authored with Davao City 1st District Rep. Karlo Nograles, was approved last Oct. 8 by the Senate Committee on Health and Demography.
The bill is titled, “An Act Establishing A Tertiary Hospital in the City of San Jose Del Monte, Province of Bulacan, To Be Known As St. Bernadette Children And Maternity Hospital.”
To be erected at Barangay Graceville, the hospital will have a minimum capacity of 100 beds and will offer such services as pediatrics, obstetrics, general medicine, gynecology, surgery and psychiatry, mainly for the residents of the city.
The bill was filed last May, passed the third reading in August, and was transmitted to the Senate on Aug. 30.
Robes’ focus on her constituents’ health issues is also made apparent in a subsequent distribution of wheelchairs, crutches, nebulizers, hearing aid gadgets, and blood pressure apparatus, among others, to some beneficiaries.
According to an Oct. 11 post on her Facebook page, Robes gave out the said items in the city’s Barangay Tungkong Mangga, under her “Alagang Ate Rida” program.(END)
