SMC can finance alone proposed Bulacan airport – Ramon Ang
San Miguel Corporation (SMC) can solely finance its proposed P736-billion Bulacan airport project.
SMC President Ramon Ang, in an interview with reporters on the sidelines of the 51st Asian Development Bank (ADB) Meeting in Mandaluyong City, cited the benefits that the Filipinos could get from constructing the Bulacan International Airport in Bulakan town.
“We are confident that the airport will be good for our country and will bring in at least 20 million foreign tourists to our country,” he said.
“so I think it will create millions of jobs for our Filipino countrymen,” Ang added.
Looking at their balance sheet and cash flow, he said, “we can easily do that airport alone.”
He said the return of investment was only “secondary.”
The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board recently approved the proposed Bulacan airport project.
It involves the construction, operation and maintenance of the airport. It has a total project cost of P735.634 billion.
