Sen. JV Ejercito joins Angeles City politikos in launch of elderly week
Senator JV Ejercito joined local politikos of Angeles City in Pampanga during the launch Monday of the city’s 2018 Elderly Week observance.
Ejercito took part in the awarding by Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan and Vice Mayor Bryan Matthew Nepomuceno of certificates of appreciation and P5,000 financial support to 10 senior citizens aged 95 to 99 years old.
The city has a total of 44,731 registered senior citizens.
“I shared with Cabalens the ‘good news’ of assured high quality and accessible health care services under the Universal Health Care program which I principally authored and is expected to pass into law this month,” Ejercito said on his Facebook page.
“As chairman of the Committee on Health, it is my priority to provide a complete health package for all Filipinos,” he added.
A number of activities have been lined up for the city’s senior citizens, including a gathering on Oct. 17 at the MarQuee Mall to treat them to dancing, singing, and raffle draw, as well as a ballroom dancing on Oct. 19 at the Central Town Mall to be hosted by Nepomuceno.
Pamintuan said in his remarks that the city government’s program for the elderly sector is “an acknowledgment of their vital contribution in building better communities and that age is never a hindrance in living a productive live.”
