Sen. Angara issues reminders as ‘Ompong’ approaches
Sen. Sonny Angara issued Friday a reminder for “all to prepare for the worst, while praying for the best” as typhoon Ompong nears the Luzon mainland.
On Facebook and Instagram accounts, the Aurora politiko said it is “best to be prepared for the coming storm, while praying it changes course.”
According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, “Ompong” is projected to hit Cagayan-Isabela provinces on Saturday morning.
On Friday afternoon, it was located east of Baler, Aurora, packing winds of up to 205 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 255 kph. It is moving west northwest at 25 kph.
The northern part of Aurora was placed under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 on Friday afternoon, which indicates that winds from 121 – 170 kph are expected in the next several hours.
