Roman seeks probe into Special Education Fund of local school boards

Nov 8, 2018 @ 10:16

Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman has filed a resolution seeking an investigation on the utilization of the Special Education Fund (SEF) of local school boards.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, November 8, the politiko said the SEF was meant to be allocated for crucial school expenses, like operation and maintenance of public schools, construction and repair of school buildings, and the purchase of books and materials.

“Unfortunately, a recent Commission on Audit report reveals that there are several anomalies on the disbursement of the SEF by several local government units,” said Roman.

“This is why I filed a resolution directing the House Committee on Local Government to create an inquiry on the utilization of the Special Education Fund by Local School Boards,” she added.
