Roman lauds PH Army for opening doors to LGBTs
Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman is happy the Philippine Army is now open to members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.
The politiko was recently accepted as part of the Army’s Reserve Force, making her the first transgender Filipina to do so.
Roman said she is now ready to carry out her duties as a lieutenant colonel “with honor, dignity, and pride.”
“It warms my heart to know that our military leaders are opening their arms to welcome members of the LGBT community to the force, many of whom share my desire to serve our country in uniform,” said Roman.
