Porac Mayor thanks CGMA for P500M megadike fund
Former President and now Pampanga 2nd District Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has secured a P500-million funding for the FVR Megadike project in Porac.
The west lateral portion of the megadike will be turned to an alternative route in the town for commercial vehicles, particularly quarry trucks and private vehicles that traverse the area going to Manila.
Porac Mayor Condralito dela Cruz delivered the good news to local transport leaders on Monday, January 8.
Pampanga board member Mike Tapang initially proposed the construction of a toll road on the west lateral portion of the FVR Megadike.
Dela Cruz’ project, meanwhile, will be a regular two-lane road for trucks that will traverse some 10 kilometers in Porac, two kilometers in Sta. Rita town and four kilometers in Bacolor.
The dike road will connect the third district of Pampanga to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) through the Porac Interchange in Barangay Cangatba in Porac.
It is also expected to decongest several areas in Central Luzon, including the Porac-Angeles Road and the Friendship Highway in Angeles City.
The starting point of the 16-kilometer road is in Cangatba village, Porac, and can then be connected to the SCTEx.
