PDEA holds info drive vs drugs in Central Luzon
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has conducted an anti-drug advocacy program through a series of information dissemination activities in Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, and Bataan, an official said Thursday.
PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino said the activities were in line with the thrust of President Rodrigo Duterte to eliminate the drug menace which remains to be one of the major problems affecting the country.
Barangay officials, youth leaders, students and workers participated in the activities.
Aquino said that the revitalization of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils or BADACs and their role in drug clearing operations were discussed during lectures and symposia in Masantol, Pampanga; Hagonoy, Pulilan, and Obando in Bulacan.
Promoting a healthy lifestyle among students and instilling awareness of drug prevention and control were also conducted in Angeles City and Mariveles, Bataan.
The seminar is in compliance to Dangerous Drug Board Regulation No. 8, Series of 2003 mandating all private establishments employing 10 or more workers to formulate and implement drug abuse prevention and control programs in the workplace, including mandatory drafting and adoption of company policy against dangerous drug use.
