Mayor Santiago urges local officials to store rain water

San Fernando City Mayor Edwin Santiago on July 5 called on local government officials to conserve water this rainy season.

The Pampanga politiko said local government officials must must maximize the wet season by storing rain water that can be used during summer months.

Santiago urged everyone to prepare for climate change.

“The weather is already unpredictable and the least we can do is to prepare for what will be next,” Santiago said

He said stored rain water can later be used to irrigate farmlands.

“Today, there is downpour of water, tomorrow we have dry lands. Let us maximize the gifts of Mother Nature and bring it back to her when she needs it,” he added.
