Mayor Inton signs MOA to rehab dumpsite into landfill, ecopark
Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton is looking to convert an open dumpsite into a sanitary landfill and eventually into an ecological park.
This after the Bataan politiko signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Truckshers Waste Management and Hauling Services, Inc. to transform the decommissioned open dumpsite in Barangay Mambog into a sanitary landfill and eventually rehabilitate it into an ecopark.
The project is also eyeing to develop out-of-school youth, senior citizens, barangay health workers, and barangay officials into “ecoguardians.”
The ecoguardians will be trained in proper solid waste management that they can eventually tap for livelihood opportunities.
The project will also have a bird sanctuary and a greenhouse.
