Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda plans to feature Kapampangan heirlooms recipes and original cuisines of renowned Kapampangan chefs in the monthlong Pampanga Day celebration in December.
Pineda said a culinary fare will be held at the Parade Grounds at the Clark Freeport Zone on December 2 and 3. No other chefs will be invited except for their homegrown kitchen experts.
The local government has invited renowned chefs Lilian Borromeo, Sau del Rosario, Emelita W. Galang and Claude Tayag, among others, as well as the original fares of Everybody’s Café, Rainforest, Denlim’s Kitchen Restaurant, Aling Lucing and Mila’s.
Among the other festivities for the Pampanga Day celebration are the parade and display of “Vintage Cars” from the 1940s to the 1960s in Lubao and the exhibition of the famous giant lanterns of Pampanga next month.
Pampanga, distinguished as the oldest province in the country, will be observing its 446th foundation on December 11. The date has been declared as a special nonworking holiday in the province.
