Gonzales questions sales of Paskuhan Village to SM group
Pampanga 3rd District Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr is seeking a probe into the sale of the Paskuhan Village in Pampanga by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) to SM Development Corporation (SMDC).
This after TIEZA sold the Paskuhan Village to SMDC under its Asset Privatization Program.
The Pampanga politiko said San Fernando City residents were denied of the right of first refusal on the sale of the Paskuhan Village.
Gonzales insisted TIEZA “misappreciated” the functions and mandate of the agency based on the Tourism Act of 2009.
“It is important to the people of Pampanga, hence the Paskuhan Village is worth protecting by the very agency tasked to promote and protect such cultural and heritage site,” Gonzales said.
