DENR cites importance of improved frontline services in Pampanga seminar
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has underscored the value of continuous improvement and innovation of mechanisms for the department’s frontline services.
DENR Undersecretary and Chief-of-staff Rofoldo Garcia made the remark during the internal audit officers orientation workshop on the Citizen’s Charter for operating units of the DENR August 3, Friday, at Widus Hotel in Clark, Pampanga.
“It is vital that we establish a regular and efficient internal monitoring system for it sustains the compliance of DENR in the Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) or Republic Act 9485, which pertains to the transaction system, procedures and the Department’s citizen’s Charter,” Garcia said.
He noted that in the previous assessment made by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), the DENR ranked third out of 41 national government agencies in terms of efficiency in doing business and providing services to the public.
He dared the employees and personnel to strengthen compliance with the ARTA law, and bring back the “Frontline Service Champion” title the DENR once had by year 2013.
Meanwhile, in the same event, DENR-3 Regional Director Paquito Moreno Jr. cited the improvements done by the region to fast-track land patent applications, which comprise the bulk of 8888 complaints, by adding processing lanes for the regular clients and senior citizens.
