Cops nab suspect in killing of retired school teacher in Nueva Ecija

Police have arrested the primary suspect in the murder of a retired teacher in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija.

Police Senior Supt. Marco Dades, San Jose City chief of police, said that Susan de Leon, 65, a retired public school teacher was killed.

The suspect identified as Melvin Casita, 46, was nabbed early Sunday morning, July 22, eight hours after the killing took place.

Casita, a resident of Barangay Sto. Tomas, San Jose City was arrested after he was positively identified by De Leon’s elder sister.

“This accomplishment proves that indeed your police is exerting all efforts to immediately solve cases and put behind the bars of justice all who are responsible for this lawlessness,” said Police Regional Office 3 Director Amador V. Corpus.
