Cops kill 2 alleged drug peddlers, nab 14 others in Bulacan buy-bust
Two suspected drug pushers were killed, while 14 others were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Bulacan for the past 24 hours, police said Thursday.
Acting Bulacan Provincial Director Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna said that Alfred Morte, 33, a janitor, allegedly drew and fired his gun towards the police officer following a drug deal in Northville 3, Bayugo, Meycauayan City at around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 13. This prompted the backup operatives to fire back, resulting to the death of the suspect.
On the other hand, Joseph Gallardo allegedly also resisted arrest after a drug transaction with an undercover agent in Sitio Tuklas, Mabolo in Malolos City at about 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, June 13.
Gallardo was included in the watch list of Barangay San Vicente and allegedly involved in robbery hold-up and theft incidents in Malolos and nearby municipalities, Bersaluna said.
The police operatives seized from both suspects alleged illegal drugs and firearms, among others.
Meanwhile, the 14 other drug suspects, including a minor, were nabbed in different anti-illegal drug oeprations conducted in the towns of Marilao, Bustos, Bocaue, Calumpit, Obando and Plaridel.
Seized from the suspects were 37 heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu, three medium heat-sealed sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves, assorted drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money.
Appropriate criminal charges will be filed against the suspects.
