CENRO confiscates equipment from illegal mining in Baler
The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) has issued a seize order of the equipment being used in the illegal mining operation in Baler, Aurora.
The order was served Friday, May 11, to the operators of the illegal mining/treasure hunting in Sitio Ilaya, Brgy. Zabali.
Baler Mayor Nelianto C. Bihasa, along with the the representatives from CENRO, Baler police and Army’s 91st Infantry Battalion, served the order.
Confiscated were one unit of chainsaw and one unit of backhoe.
During the first inspection in the illegal mining site recently, two foreigners and a Filipino were seen in the area.
The excavation site was allegedly in a timberland area.
Proper charges are being prepared against those involved in the illegal activity.
